Coach Downey is an elite level endurance and triathlon coach. Brendon is the coach that other coaches turn to for advice, including the ITU who contracted Brendon from 2005-2007 to train other full time professional coaches, and help develop the coaching curriculum.
Brendon has been sought after by numerous organisations and has consulted to the Chinese Olympic Triathlon team and Polar International. He has also held a number of positions including Director of Sport Development for Triathlon New Zealand, and has coached athletes to the 2004 and 2008 Olympic games.
A nice, down to earth guy, Brendon has coached numerous athletes from beginners doing their first Tri, to cyclists doing the gruelling 500 mile Death Valley cycle ride, or the Marathon des Sables through the Sahara desert.
